Frustration
I wrote this a few months ago. I really don’t remember writing it, although some of the words are familiar. It seems a little, uh, relevant with everything going on in the US, OWS, OTG, etc. Thought I’d post it, even if it is old..
There is so much wrong with the country. And right. We are, for the most part, a good people. We love freedom. We are kind. We donate to charities. We are a farce.
We treat each other with disdain, especially if we are at all different. The only time it seems we are nice is if the other person cannot take what is ‘ours’. The minute the other person’s needs even have a remote chance of affecting our lifestyle, they are the enemy. It really is disheartening.
We come from such strong stock. We have done so much and it doesn’t have to be this way. Our greediness will be our nation’s downfall. What the aftermath of that looks like, whether that downfall is slow and gentle or fast and violent is to be seen.
How do we get back our mojo? That will definitely be violent. There are many people in this country who want all the toys, all the wealth and all the power. They think they know best because the already have most of the toys, wealth and power. We are, collectively, scum to them because we are not them. No matter what you say or do it will not change. Even if you enlighten one, just as if you attempt to enlighten a racist, you’ll just be “one of the good ones”, but ultimately scum.
They must be brought down or destroyed. I just don’t think we can coexist any longer. They have stolen our retirements so that we will be wage slaves to them forever. They have enslaved us with debt. They have looted our treasury so that that we are now all collectively in debt. Now they are privatizing everything from libraries, public utilities and water works, education, the military and fire protection. Soon it will the police force. Don’t believe me? Look at other banana republics. They’re 20 years ahead of us.
The process is so insidious. They slowly push their agenda and when we get used to the discomfort, they push a little further, a little harder. We are distracted. We don’t notice it until it’s all gone and a nation of 350 million is effectively enslaved. A huge lower class with a small middle class of enforcers to keep them in line. That’s where we’re going.
I’m moving along to escape the debt trap while I still can. I’ll sell my wares abroad and try to keep the Gaskells’ freedom for at least one more generation. But when you’re ready to fight, I’ll be back.
